Uta no Oniisan

Looks like Ohno finally got his big break with Maou as he is set to star in another drama, Uta no Oniisan. The new drama is a comedy and I think it would suit Ohno much better :D

The drama will be premiering in January. I hope I can get my hands on it!

In the mean time, check out Ohno's kawaii look on YouTube:

Restoran Yea Won

Met up with Lilian last Wednesday. We decided to try this Korean restaurant near Tesco Ipoh called Restoran Yea Won. Well the place was pretty quiet during lunch. There was only one other table occupied when we arrived. Perhaps because it was a weekday?

Since it was our first time there, the lady at the shop kindly briefed us on the menu. We settled for the pork set with 3 different types of lean meat, fatty meat and crunchy meat??? Haha..I don't know cause I didn't really pay attention to what she said :p They also serve beef and various dishes with rice and noodles.

Anyway, the set we ordered came with banchan (side dishes). There were pickled cabbage, fishcake, salad and a few UKV (Unidentified Korean Vege). Then came the meat. The waitress helped us cook them...cause we were the only customers left? Haha..anyway the meat wasn't marinated. Cooked just like that. But there were 3 dipping sauces. I think we looked pretty blur so the lady earlier came and briefed us on the 3 eating methods hehe..

First was by dipping the meat into this brown coloured sauce with onions in it. It looked like soy sauce but kinda tasteless to me. The second sauce looked like oil with some salt in it...again it was pretty tasteless to me...hehe...then came the third method. It's actually lettuce wrap. Take a piece of lettuce leaf and this korean-imported leaf (???), place a piece of meat on the leaves, add a piece of garlic (couldn't really taste the garlic actually) and most importantly add the third sauce provided which was actually sambal. Lastly, you can also add some of the "vege" (???)...and stuff the whole thing in..yum yum

Okay I know weird post cause I don't really know the names of the side dishes and all. I only know kimchi haha..Well anyway, Lilian and I both agreed that the lettuce wrap was the best among the 3 methods. Typical Malaysians who love strong flavours I guess hehe..

Oh how could I forget! We also ordered a jug of Barley tea which tasted slightly bitter. It wasn't sweet at all. I thought it tasted a little like sunflower seeds actually.

All in, the meal cost us RM53. There was no government or service tax. Thumbs up to that.

So what do I think of the place? Ah...well it was a new experience for me having the banchan. But otherwise, I think it's not really worth it. We didn't try the rice and noodles so I can't comment about that. If it's the grilled meat you want, neh...I would suggest Seoul Garden instead although they don't serve pork there. I'll blog about Seoul Garden next time. That's my opinion anyway.

I must admit though that grilled pork slices tasted pretty good just like that - bacon minus the saltiness.

Just a short post to say that results will be out soon.

Provisional results: 11 December

Rather late don't you think? Considering the new semester will be starting on the 22nd and the online registration isn't available yet.

Registration for next semester will start on the 13th till the 21st of December @ healthycampus.

Hmm...which electives should I take next semester? Process Control, Pyrometallurgy or Fluid Mechanics?
